Project Overview: Xinjiang Catalyst Recycling Plant Enters Final Phase
Zhengzhou Jinquan has successfully delivered and commissioned an annual 6,000-ton precious metal catalyst recycling plant in Xinjiang. The facility processes both ternary and petrochemical catalysts.
Key Milestones and Construction Progress
By November 2023, project manager Zhang Kong and his team had completed installation of the full recovery and refining system after six months of intensive work. They executed all construction and inspection tasks in an orderly manner, including the installation of cable trays and cover plates across key process areas such as smelting, iron removal, extraction, and refining.
Project Timeline and Handover Plan
In an interview with China News Service, Zhang Kong stated, "We have achieved 98% construction progress and are currently finalizing remaining tasks. We plan to conduct equipment and pipeline water testing next spring, after which we will formally hand over the plant to the client."
Investment and Expected Launch
The project represents a total investment of nearly 200 million yuan and is scheduled to commence operations in the first half of 2024.
Economic and Social Impact Forecast
Mr. Zhou, Marketing Manager of the client company, commented, "Once operational, the plant is expected to contribute approximately 40 million yuan in profit and tax revenue annually and create around 100 local jobs."
Overcoming Project Challenges
Despite the large volume and diverse types of raw materials, which made execution more complex than typical catalyst projects, the team completed construction within six months. Their performance has received strong recognition from the client and media, further solidifying the Jinquan brand.
Team Leadership and Reflections
Zhang Kong reflected on the execution phase: "Our equipment and processes are mature, which ensured client satisfaction. Leading a team of over thirty people on-site required overcoming numerous logistical challenges. We arranged local housing, brought a dedicated cook, and coordinated vehicles transported from Zhengzhou as well as locally purchased units."
He concluded, "Our company placed high strategic importance on this project given its national-scale significance. Successfully delivering it, much like our earlier large-scale project in Hebei, brings us tremendous professional pride."
