On February 27, 2024, the China Gold Association released the 2023 China Gold Association Science and Technology Award winners. Our unit, in collaboration with Northeastern University and Shandong Gold Group, declared the project "R&D of Key Technologies and Equipment for Intelligent and High-Efficiency 99.999% Gold Electrolysis". This project won the First Prize of Science and Technology Achievement from the association. It also marks the third provincial and ministerial-level first prize for our unit.
This project features gold inventory in electrolyte only half of that in traditional electrolysis processes. Its electrolysis efficiency reaches 3–4 times higher. The production cycle lasts 15–20 hours, with gold loss below 0.02% during electrolytic refining. It enables faster and more efficient production. Meanwhile, it solves the technical problem of extremely unstable purity in 99.999% high-purity gold produced by traditional chemical methods.
In terms of equipment, we have achieved integration, unification and intelligence for the gold electrolysis unit. We designed an intelligent monitoring system covering electrolyte temperature, voltage, current and copper bar temperature. The equipment offers simple operation, high safety and convenience. It supports flexible mass production, with high integration and small floor space. It also boasts significantly improved overall corrosion resistance and operating environment.
